New Ames Medical Office Building Now Open

Sturm Cosmetic Surgery and Ames Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting and open house on Jan. 19 to celebrate Sturm’s relocation, expansion and addition of an independent surgery center inside a newly constructed 6,235-square-foot medical office building in Ames, Iowa.

Located just off East 13th Street at the corner of Philadelphia Street and Baltimore Drive, this Class-A medical office space sits on two acres and is fully leased to Sturm Cosmetic Surgery.

“We’re thrilled to relocate our offices and expand to this new medical facility,” said Dr. Lindsay Sturm, owner and lead physician of Sturm Cosmetic Surgery. “Having our own surgery center allows us to offer our patients a more consistent and exceptional experience. Not only is this more convenient for them, but having our own surgery facility also means we can focus on delivering the most comfortable and personalized experience for our patients in this calming and beautiful location.”

Sturm selected DocCentric, a group offering development and management of independent surgery facilities, as its surgery center development partner.

“Dr. Sturm is just the kind of physician that DocCentric was created to serve because she is business savvy and an exceptional surgeon,” said Teri Yates, president of DocCentric. “We specialize in helping independent physicians successfully expand into partial or complete ownership of a surgery center. We manage the details, so they can stay focused on patient care. We appreciate the opportunity to facilitate this joint project with Sturm Cosmetic Surgery.”

DocCentric selected Chattanooga, Tennessee-based Noon Development LLC to build the medical office that is home to Sturm Cosmetic Surgery.

“We were honored to be involved in this project in partnership with DocCentric and Dr. Sturm,” said Bob Elliott, president of Noon Development LLC. “We see a shortage of new medical space across the country, especially for cities like Ames that are growing and expanding. We’re excited to see all the amazing work and modern amenities Sturm and future tenants will offer to their patients in this new location.”

Generous parking, proximity to a hospital and customization for tenants are just a few of the building’s amenities. Based on demand, up to 10,000 square feet of additional office space could be built and leased on the same site, just off East 13th Street in Ames, Iowa. Anyone interested in leasing or joint ownership can contact Bob Elliott at 423-531-1330.

“It is exciting to see Sturm Cosmetic Surgery continue to invest in our community,” said Dan Culhane, President & CEO of the Ames Chamber of Commerce. “The addition of an independent surgery center is an amenity for our community that we cannot take for granted. We are honored to be part of this celebration and to help share the news of this expansion.”
